Sinopsis

La inteligencia artificial está transformando de manera profunda la educación superior, modificando los procesos de enseñanza, aprendizaje, evaluación, investigación y gestión institucional. Esta obra analiza de manera crítica e integral las oportunidades, riesgos y perspectivas que plantea su incorporación en las universidades latinoamericanas. A partir de una revisión académica y multidimensional, se examinan la evolución de la inteligencia artificial educativa, la transformación digital universitaria, los nuevos ecosistemas de aprendizaje, la personalización, la tutoría inteligente y las nuevas funciones del profesorado. Asimismo, se estudian sus aplicaciones en la evaluación del aprendizaje, el diseño de instrumentos, la retroalimentación, la investigación científica, la escritura académica y el análisis de datos. La obra aborda también los principales desafíos relacionados con la integridad académica, el plagio, la privacidad y protección de datos, los sesgos algorítmicos, la dependencia tecnológica y el uso responsable de estas herramientas. De manera particular, se analizan la inclusión, la accesibilidad, la brecha digital y las desigualdades que pueden condicionar el acceso equitativo a los beneficios de la inteligencia artificial. Finalmente, se desarrollan propuestas vinculadas con la gobernanza institucional, la formación docente, los marcos de uso responsable y los escenarios futuros de la universidad. El libro propone una aproximación crítica, ética y humanista que concibe la inteligencia artificial no como un fin en sí mismo, sino como un recurso cuya pertinencia depende de su capacidad para fortalecer la calidad educativa, la equidad, la autonomía académica y el desarrollo de capacidades humanas.

Biografía del autor/a

Pedro Falconi Ayón, Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí

Abogado con énfasis en Derechos Humanos y Ciencias Penales. Posee los títulos de Magíster en Ciencias Penales y Criminológicas, Magíster en Administración Pública y Magíster en Derecho con mención en Derecho Procesal Constitucional. Se desempeña como director de Talento Humano de la Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí y como profesor ocasional de la carrera de Derecho, adscrita a la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, Humanísticas y de la Educación de esta institución. En el ámbito docente, imparte la cátedra de Derecho Constitucional. Su trayectoria académica y profesional se relaciona con el derecho constitucional, los derechos humanos, las ciencias penales, la criminología, la administración pública y la gestión del talento humano.

Fabian Román Lainez, Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador

Fabián Román Laínez es docente con una trayectoria académica y profesional vinculada a la educación superior y a la educación de personas jóvenes y adultas. Durante cuatro años se desempeñó como docente de la Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, aportando a la formación de estudiantes en las carreras de Ingeniería Comercial, Turismo y Administración Pública, dentro del área de Administración de Empresas.

Actualmente cuenta con siete años de experiencia como docente en la modalidad de Educación para Personas con Escolaridad Inconclusa, labor que le ha permitido contribuir a la formación y reinserción educativa de jóvenes y adultos. Su trayectoria se caracteriza por el compromiso con una educación inclusiva y superior, la actualización permanente y el fortalecimiento de las oportunidades de aprendizaje para diversos grupos de la sociedad ecuatoriana.

Yonatan Calizaya Ramos, Universidad Nacional de Juliaca

Ingeniero  economista  y docente  universitario,  con  especialización  en  Políticas Públicas,  Gerencia  y  Gestión  de  Proyectos,  además  de  formación  complementaria en  planificación estratégica,  desarrollo territorial  y  cooperación internacional.  Cuenta con amplia experiencia profesional en el diseño, formulación, evaluación y gestión de proyectos de  desarrollo  económico  y  social,  así  como  en  la  implementación  de iniciativas financiadas por organismos de cooperación internacional, entidades públicas y organizaciones de desarrollo. Mi trayectoria se ha orientado al fortalecimiento institucional, la gestión pública, la inversión pública, el  desarrollo  territorial,  la  competitividad  y  la  asociatividad  productiva.  En  el  ámbito  académico,  se  desempeña  como  docente  universitario en programas de pregrado y posgrado, impartiendo cursos relacionados  con  economía, formulación  y  evaluación  de  proyectos,  gestión pública, investigación científica y desarrollo regional. Asimismo, desarrollo actividades de investigación en áreas como economía aplicada, teoría  de  juegos,  desarrollo  rural,  cadenas  productivas  y  políticas  públicas, participando como ponente en eventos académicos nacionales e  internacionales  y  contribuyendo  con  publicaciones  científicas  y documentos  técnicos  orientados  a  la  generación  de  conocimiento  y  al  desarrollo sostenible.

Byron Chango Muñoz, Investigador independiente

Licenciado en Lenguaje y Comunicación por la Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial y complementó esta formación con una Tecnología en Desarrollo Integral del Niño obtenida en el Instituto Tecnológico José Chiriboga Grijalba. Esta combinación de estudios fortaleció su visión pedagógica y le permitió desarrollar un enfoque integral hacia el aprendizaje humano.

Comprometido con la excelencia y la actualización constante, cursó la Maestría en Innovación en la Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar. Este programa fortaleció su capacidad para integrar metodologías contemporáneas, enfoques transformadores y prácticas de investigación orientadas a la mejora del sistema educativo. Durante su formación de posgrado, profundizó en el análisis de la innovación en contextos educativos y en estrategias que permiten dinamizar los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Su trabajo académico se enfocó en comprender cómo la creatividad, la tecnología y el pensamiento crítico pueden integrarse de manera efectiva en el aula. Esta maestría consolidó su visión de un sistema educativo más flexible, inclusivo y conectado con los desafíos del siglo XXI.

En el ámbito profesional, ha desempeñado un rol destacado como Instructor en las Escuelas de Formación de Policías, donde ha contribuido al desarrollo disciplinario, ético y humano del personal en preparación. Su labor dentro de la formación policial se ha centrado en promover valores institucionales, fortalecer las competencias ciudadanas y fomentar una cultura de respeto, responsabilidad y servicio. Además, ha ejercido como Inspector de Curso en la Unidad Educativa Liceo Policial, impulsando procesos educativos orientados a la excelencia académica y la formación integral de niños y adolescentes. Su gestión en esta institución se caracteriza por el liderazgo responsable, la organización eficiente y el acompañamiento cercano a estudiantes y familias. En cada una de estas funciones, ha demostrado un compromiso permanente con el crecimiento humano y profesional de quienes acompañan su labor.

Juan Lázaro Guillermo, Universidad Nacional Intercultural de la Amazonia

Docente universitario, investigador RENACYT Nivel IV y conferencista internacional con más de 24 años de experiencia académica en el Perú. Es magíster en Docencia y Calidad, egresado del Doctorado en Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible y maestrando en Inteligencia Artificial. Su trayectoria integra docencia, gestión académica e investigación científica en áreas como Ciencia y Tecnología, Gestión Ambiental, Desarrollo Social y Sostenible, Administración, Interculturalidad, Educación, TIC, Inteligencia Artificial aplicada, Ciencia de Datos, transformación digital, innovación educativa, etc. Ha publicado 28 artículos científicos en revistas indexadas, 30 libros académicos y científicos, y posee 12 patentes por modelos de utilidad y software. Ha presentado más de 90 ponencias en congresos nacionales e internacionales y participa activamente en redes globales de investigación, contribuyendo al desarrollo ambiental, científico, tecnológico y educativo en la Amazonía Peruana y Latinoamérica.
